Banana Flag & Translucent Shroud
The artwork is a mixed media piece measuring 68 x 168 x 10 inches and incorporates silkscreen on cotton, polyethylene, stickers, wood, video, and a QR code.
Through this piece, I explore social commentary on our society's consumption and waste, with a focus on food production and supply chain inequalities. I question my own role in the supply chain and mass consumerism, using materials sourced from various places to construct large-scale assemblages.
By remixing national flags and symbols, I aim to spark discussion about food production and consumer values, hoping to inspire more sustainable and just choices. I believe that art and symbols hold the power to engage and inspire people, encouraging critical thinking and envisioning a better future.
